The Faith that Endures

What does it really mean to have faith that endures? This powerful message takes us into the life of Caleb from Joshua 14, a man who waited 45 years to see God's promise fulfilled. Unlike the prosperity gospel's shallow 'name it and claim it' theology, Caleb's story reveals something far deeper: authentic faith rooted in God's character rather than our own declarations. At 85 years old, Caleb stood as strong as he was at 40, ready to conquer the hill country God had promised him decades earlier. His secret wasn't a special diet or exercise plan, but an undivided mind focused on who God is. While ten other spies saw giants and became paralyzed by fear, Caleb saw the same obstacles but kept his eyes fixed on God's faithfulness. This message challenges us to examine where we place our faith. When we look back at our lives, do we fixate on shame and guilt, or do we remember God's faithfulness that carried us through? Caleb's persistence teaches us that faith must be coupled with action, that God's promises require our obedience, and that the inheritance we pursue should align with God's character. The beautiful connection emerges when we realize Caleb of the tribe of Judah received his inheritance on a hill, foreshadowing Jesus from the same tribe who secured our eternal inheritance on another hill called Calvary.
